Memories

GINNY
I remember helping peel wallpaper off the walls in the house on Mimosa. I felt so grown up since I got to help.

We "tricked" school (at least that was my thought) when Mother took me to Gawgie's for visit one day I was sick (Maybe chicken pox). We spent the day on a blanket under the tree in Gawgie's yard.

On Cecilia, Mother took us to the library frequently. I remember sitting on the floor of the back seat (no seat belts then) and reading all my books before we got home.

We all had a great time on a picnic by a river when we lived in Tulsa. We all came home very sun burned!!!!

Every Sunday I remember Mother making sure the boys had white shirts and RuthAnne and I had pretty dresses to wear to the Church on the Square. (It is even more impressive now that I know how much it takes to get just 2 kids and a husband out the door on Sunday AM.)

Mother took classes at MSU when I was in High School. I remember her trying to study on her bed while we were all studying in our rooms or at the dining room table. I can't imagine she got much done with each of us going in asking questions.

Mother has taken care of people all her life—

Her kids—all the time

Her husband—through sickness and in health and through job changes

Her Mother—through Big John's death, Gawgie's gallbladder surgery and lung cancer

Her sister—I can still hear Charlotte say: I'll let my sister take care of that

Her Uncle and Aunt—when O. C. had to give up driving and when Thelma no longer knew where she was or why she was there

Her Grandkids—She came to Maryland for 10 days to take care of Michael when I had to go in to produce 3rd quarter financials even though I was on 'maternity leave'. She has kept both Michael and Shaun twice for a couple of days so Bill and I could get away alone.

She has been a source of love, comfort and inspiration all my life. Thank you for everything Mother/Anne/Gramma.

We LOVE YOU!

Memories

BILL
Anne is very organized and calm in the midst of chaos. When I visited for Paul's wedding, she had a couple of Paul's friends and me in the house in addition to everything else going on.

She told me (later) that since I survived a Memphis summer and crawled under the house in 10 degree below weather, that I was a "keeper".

Anne tells her neighbors, with me in earshot, that "he's OK, even though he is a YANKEE".

Unwilling to see me bored during our vacations in Collierville, she always has "chores" lined up for me— trimming trees, cutting grass, etc.
